Reed Switch Module 3 PINS 3.3V – 5V DC
The Reed Switch Module (3-pin) is a simple yet highly reliable magnetic sensor designed to detect the presence or absence of a magnetic field At its core is a hermetically sealed reed switch encased in glass, which changes state when exposed to a magnetic field This makes it an excellent choice for contactless switching object detection, and automation projects
Compact and easy to integrate, this module works on a low operating voltage of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with popular development platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. Its long mechanical life stable performance and quick response time allow it to be widely used in security systems, home automation, and industrial applications
How It Works
The reed switch consists of two ferromagnetic metal contacts inside a sealed glass capsule. In the absence of a magnetic field, the contacts remain open, producing a logic LOW signal. When a magnet approaches the contacts are pulled together completing the circuit and generating a logic HIGH signal
The module outputs a digital signal that can be directly read by microcontrollers This makes it perfect for applications where magnetic detection is required, such as door/window security sensors, position tracking, and proximity detection.
