The Laser Receiver Sensor Module is a compact and reliable electronic component designed to detect laser light signals. It is widely used in security systems, robotics, automation projects, and optical experiments where precise and fast detection of laser beams is required. When paired with a laser emitter module (such as HW-493), it can form a complete laser detection system suitable for object counting, line-breaking alarms, and smart monitoring applications.
This module features a high-sensitivity photodiode sensor that reacts to incoming laser beams. Once the laser light is detected, the module provides a digital output that can be directly read by Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. Its plug-and-play design with a standard 3-pin interface ensures simple wiring and fast integration into electronics projects.
How It Works
The module includes a photodiode or photosensitive transistor that senses laser light at a typical wavelength of 650 nm (red laser). When the laser beam strikes the sensor, the circuit converts the light signal into a digital output (HIGH or LOW). If the beam is interrupted, the output changes state, allowing detection of objects passing through the laser path.
This working principle makes it suitable for laser tripwires, security barriers, counting devices, and automation triggers.
