USB Compatibility
Because this board uses the original ATmega16U2 USB converter, it does not require any special drivers like the CH340 version. This adds convenience and maximum compatibility with the Arduino IDE, where it will be recognized as Arduino / Genuino Mega 2560.
Though this board costs slightly more, it ensures seamless integration with most systems.
Power Supply
The Mega 2560 R3 operates at 5V, which can be powered via an external supply or through USB. The power source is selected automatically if both are connected.
If you use an external supply, it is recommended to provide between 7V and 12V. Higher voltages may cause the onboard voltage regulator to overheat.
