7483 IC 4-Bit Binary Full Adder (Fast Carry)

he IC 7483 is a high-speed 4-bit binary full adder that adds two 4-bit binary numbers along with a carry-in bit. It provides a 4-bit sum output and a carry-out that enables cascading for multi-bit addition.

Each of the two 4-bit inputs (A and B) is processed using full adder logic for each corresponding bit, and the IC outputs the sum and an end carry bit. The carry-in (Cin) input allows the IC to connect in series with other 7483s to construct 8-bit, 12-bit, or higher-bit adders.

Because of its built-in fast carry generation, the 7483 offers low propagation delays, making it ideal for use in high-speed arithmetic logic units (ALUs), digital counters, and arithmetic sections of microprocessors.

This IC works seamlessly with other TTL devices, thanks to its logic-level compatibility and standard 5V operation. It simplifies digital addition in both standalone and chained configurations.
