4020 IC 14-Stage Binary Ripple Counter

The CD4020BE operates as a 14-stage binary ripple counter, ideal for frequency division and timing applications. The IC accepts clock pulses on its input and divides them down through a series of internal flip-flops, producing binary outputs from Q1 through Q14. Each output represents a power-of-two division of the input frequency, allowing you to create accurate time delays or divide frequencies by factors ranging from 2 to 16,384.

This IC uses CMOS technology, which ensures extremely low power consumption while maintaining compatibility with standard logic levels. You can trigger the counter on the negative edge of the clock signal and reset it anytime using the asynchronous reset pin. The device handles a wide supply voltage range (3V–15V), making it versatile for both 5V and 12V logic systems.
