7437 IC Quad 2-Input NAND Buffer
The IC 7437 integrates four 2-input NAND gates with open-collector outputs inside a standard 14-pin DIP package. Each gate outputs LOW only when both inputs are HIGH. Unlike standard NAND gates, these outputs act like switches to ground, so you can connect them to external voltages (up to 30V) using pull-up resistors.
You can use the 7437 to drive current-demanding components such as motors, relays, buzzers, and lamps. The open-collector design lets the IC handle mixed-voltage environments and implement wired-AND logic by connecting outputs together. Its TTL-compatible inputs accept standard logic levels, which simplifies integration with 7400-series logic systems.
This IC works well in control systems, industrial equipment, and custom electronics where direct output control isn’t enough. Use the 7437 when your circuit needs load control, high-voltage switching, or current sinking.
